The geographical location of Vorarlberg entails that the transmission network of Vorarlberger Übertragungsnetz GmbH is located at an intersection point of transmission system operators in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

In the interest of an efficient and optimized operation of the transmission network, VUEN has formed a cooperation with APG. The prime aim of this cooperation is an economical and operationally optimized running of the network.

In the course of this cooperation, APG acts as the contact and coordination partner of the entire Austrian transmission network for external transmission system operators in matters related to operational management and thereby also represents the transmission network of VUEN.
